MinnPost Article featuring Paul /
Artist Paul Peterson wasn’t made here; he and his sister, Marita Metcalf, were born in Colombia and adopted by a family in Shoreview. As adults, they found their first family and are now in contact with them. Peterson’s latest series, painted on burlap coffee-bean bags from Colombia, features subjects traditional and native to the region of Colombia where he and Marita are from. (He often works on surfaces other than canvas because they add depth and texture.) His goal: giving back to the family that brought him and his sister into the world.
To learn more, watch Paul's episode of mno airing for the first time this Sunday, May 1st.

Client Commission Story /
Paul is often working on a variety of client commission projects, some of which require him to replicate an important painting or moment on canvas. We'll feature several commission "stories" in the blog, beginning with this one.
A client came to Paul looking for a special gift - a painting created from a image of a friend accomplishing an important milestone.
Paul worked from the image above to create the painting you see below. As you can see, the recipient was thrilled!
DIY-HTGV Artwork Project /
Paul created some custom closet doors for the television show "I Hate My Kitchen", which can be found on the DIY Network and HGTV.
Watch the video below, which shows Paul receiving his assignment from "I Hate My Kitchen" host James Young. Images of the process and finished product can also be found below.
